Occupation Has No Future studies Israeli militarism, examines the occupation of the Palestinian West Bank, and explores the work of Israelis and Palestinians organizing against militarism and occupation through conversations with Israeli conscientious objectors, former soldiers, and Palestinians living under occupation. The film explores the Israeli social environment and examines the consequences of Israeli policies both for the Palestinian people as well as for Israeli civil society. It additionally looks at the Israeli anti-militarist movement and those Israeli youth refusing conscription, refusing orders, and choosing to partner with a growing grassroots Palestinian campaign of civil disobedience to defeat the occupation. Although Occupation Has No Future has been screening across the country and internationally for only a short time, it has had enthusiastic reception at every stop and has received much praise. This DVD brings together two of Upheaval Productions’ films on New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina, Down But Not Outand Dos Americas: The Reconstruction of New Orleans. Both films give an inside account of what is really happening in the Gulf Coast through interviews with those most affected. Down But Not Out explores survivors’ stories of evacuation and their thoughts on reconstruction one year following the disaster, and Dos Americas examines the Latino migrant laborers who are rebuilding New Orleans and the issues that community faces. Both films have been widely screened both domestically and internationally and have received wide acclaim. Dos Americas is presented in both English and Spanish. Total running time for both films is 80 minutes.

Media Insurgente’s hard-to-find compilation features four short documentaries produced by the group: Trying Days, Producing Just Garments, When Capital Flies We Remain, and Estamos Aquí. Issues explored in these films include grassroots organizing in New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina, a worker-occupied and operated factory in El Salvador, the effects of plant closures on workers in Salinas, CA, and the student and worker strike that shut down UC Santa Cruz in 2005. This collection is hard to find and provides excellent documentation of these amazing stories. Producing Just Garments andEstamos Aquí are presented in both English and Spanish. Total running time for the DVD is 76 minutes.
